Artist Profile

Jack Salud

“I find extreme fulfillment and satisfaction in creating things with my hands. Being able to manifest my inner being through what I personally consider visually appealing images gives me peace and joy. Beautiful music is my primary source of artistic inspiration. It opens up my soul and empowers me to fearlessly interpret the feelings that these melodies stir within depths of my soul.

In 1997, Ayala Museum awarded Salud as the prestigious commission to design the museums Christmas Cards. He created two designs- his own interpretation of Christ’s birth and triumphant Angels.

In 2002, He was chosen by the Philippine Daily Inquirer to be one of the 20 Filipino painters ( together with Bencab, Malang, Sena, Lydia Velasco to name a few)¬† to paint the life-size “Guyito” sculptures- PDI’s official mascot, in celebration of the publications 20th anniversary.

In 2006,He was included in Philippine Daily Inquirer as one of the BEST IN PHILIPPINE ART FOR 2005 in its January 02, 2006 issue.

In 2005, His interpretation of the Philippine Madonna was one of the artworks that won in the stamp design contest of the Union Internationale, Contre La Tuberculose Es Les Makdies Repiratoires held in Paris, France.

In 2006, He was chosen by the Department of Foreign Affairs under Secretary Domingo Siazon to mount a one- man exhibit at the prestigious MORI ART MUSEUM in Roppongi, Tokyo in celebration of the 50th anniversary of Philippine-Japan Friendship year. Her Imperial Highness Princess Takamado cut the ribbon to open the exhibit.
